I recently read a short essay. compared to my story, well... it doesn't compare. The essay was SO much better than my story. It really made me realize that there are some REALLY, good writers out there, and I hope to be one of them someday. :)

Short Story I'm Writing

Setting

The setting for my story is a fall Saturday in Seattle Washington. It is raining lightly. Dylan is walking to the small book store down the street from his house. Both of Rick’s parents where fired from their jobs. Rick left his house yesterday (He slept on a bench in a park) and has been pickin’ pockets left and right. Rick hasn’t eaten all day. Rick walks to the book store and tries to pick Dylan’s pocket. Dylan catches him and confronts him. They have a conversation. Dylan convinces Rick to stop what he’s doing.

Dylan Carter~ Born Feb 12 1997

Dylan is the protagonist.
Dylan is a tall 14 year old boy with black hair and grey eyes. He lives in Seattle Washington. He plays several Instruments including: piano, drums and the harmonica. He Prefers to wear jeans and a plain t- shirt. He loves to read any kind of book. He is obsessed with zombies. He’s a Buddhist. His mom is a collage professor and his dad is a oceanographer. He has a fear of spiders.






Rick Graves~ Born June 7 1996

Rick is the antagonist.
Rick is 15 years old, has brown hair and has blue eyes. He is relatively short. He Wants to join the army. He also lives in Seattle Washington. He hates ginger ale. He plays the guitar. He likes to where dress shirts and ties. He never asks for anyone’s help and tries to do things by himself. Both of his parents work as waiters at a restaurant called “Seventy-Nine”. They work several more hours than most people, yet they still make very little money. Dylan taught himself how to pick-pocket people and enjoys it very much. When his parents can’t give him any spending money, he just goes to a crowded area and steals what he wants.

Today I was sitting in the waiting room of the doctors office. Sitting next to me was the person who tried to mug me. I was just walking down the street minding my own business then I felt something moving in my coat pocket. Of course I don’t keep anything in my pocket, except a comb and a lighter. I have no reason for the lighter. I don’t smoke. I don’t know anyone who smokes. The only thing I would need it for is to start a fire if my plane crashed in the Canadian mountains. But why would I take a plane? Let alone a plane to Canada. Those Canadians are so weird.

I do it because I can.

 I do it because I need to.

 I do it because its fun.

I find it funny when someone realizes they’ve lost something.

I lied. We actually took a train and the subway, not the bus. Now I think I want to go to MIT for college.

I'm Tired

Well, its 5:30 AM and we're heading down to Boston to MIT. This will be the first time I take a bus, and the second time I take a train. Excited!

Contagion

Well, I saw Contagion last week. The next day I was sick with a fever and cough. The movie was really good I would recommend it to anyone who is not a germaphobe.

Soda.

Alright, so I recently tasted a soda called "Zevia". It was ginger root beer flavor, and I liked it a lot. I think I'll make a commercial for it, maybe.

Sorry I haven't been posting for so long. The internet is out on my computer. And this has to be another short post because I have to go to my sister's gymnastics class.

Friday!

Tomorrow I'm going to the ocean with my cousins! Yay!

It is early in the blogging process so right now my posts are not very long, or interesting.

My Average Thursday

Well., today I woke up, had breakfast, made some stop-motion movies, went to our cottage, then went to gymnastics and fencing. It is late and I'm tired.
